I've really found this map to be most useful while preparing for the trip and just to get a hold of my bearings. Karatina is located in the Central Highlands of Kenya, and area known for its beautiful landscape and wildlife. It's very easy to arrange a safari in this area, there are many protected parks and nature preserves. Hikers will often depart from Naro Moru to climb the summit of Mount Kenya. You can see a well established road exists between Nairobi and Karatina. The drive should take us about 2 hours.
